McManis Family Vineyards Buys Cabernet Vineyard

March 8, 2007

RIPON, Calif, March 8, 2007 Ron and Jamie McManis, proprietors of McManis Family Vineyards, announced today the acquisition of the 240 acre Liberty Hills Vineyard, located in the Lodi Appellation and Borden Ranch sub appellation. This is their first vineyard acquisition in the Lodi region according to Ron McManis, who added, "Jamie and I are excited to be a part of this growing and recognized area." According to McManis, the 24 "0 acre parcel is currently planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. One of their first tasks will be to pull out 80 acres and replant back to Cabernet Sauvignon with more appropriate clones and rootstock for that region, stated McManis. McManis Family Vineyards released their first wines in October of 2001 and were met with great enthusiasm. Up until now, according to McManis, the winery has relied on its own limited supply of Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as strategic relationships with nearby growers. "Those relationships will continue", stated McManis, "but now we have a substantial Cabernet source to help us meet our vision for producing the highest quality wines. We couldn't be happier with this acquisition".
