2002 Syrah

Winemaking Notes

The 2002 vintage has a very good depth of color with youthful ruby/garnet hues. The aromas are of dense, ripe, concentrated red fruit; raspberries and plums. The depth of the fruit borders on the jammy. The bouquet delivers a nice complexity of sweet vanilla. The succulent fruit flavors lead to a toasted oak mid palate and then on to a finish of cocoa and spicy oak. There is some structure here that will reward the patient with additional complexities upon aging.
