2002 Merlot

Winemaking Notes

The color of the 2002 Merlot has good depth with purple hues.  Aging in French oak provides a bouquet with subtle hints of leather, mint, and chocolate.  With time, the aromas of cassis, currants, and blueberries, form a malange of bright Merlot fruit that becomes the wine’s primary focus.  On the palate, the soft, forward fruit flavors dominate.  The fruit is carried on a rich, round texture that slides to chalky peppery spice in the finish.
