2009 Zinfandel

Winemaking Notes

With harvest Dates of Sept. 25 - Oct. 2nd 2009 and an average Brix at Harvest of 27.3° Brix, the winemakers were very happy with what they saw in the quality of the fruit. After 7-9 days of stainless steel fermentation on the skins, the must was pressed and the wine finished fermentation. The wine was then aged on average for 4-6 months with a combination of new and used, French and American Oak.

Tasting Notes
The 2009 McManis Family Vineyards Zinfandel has a bright hue and is deep purple in color. The scent of Black Raspberry and Strawberry proliferate in the nose. Background notes of carmalized sugar and vanilla are also present. Rich, soft and creamy in the mouth, the fruit sensation promised by the nose is delivered upon in the overall flavors of the wine. Berry flavors and hints of vanilla linger long after the wine is swallowed.
