2014 Petite Sirah
Sept. 9 - 29, 2014
26.8 Deg. Brix at Harvest
New and Used French and American Oak
First Bottling - August 2015
The grapes for our 2014 Petite Sirah were harvested between Sept. 9 - 29, with an average Brix of 26.8. After fermenting on the skins for 6-9 days, the must was pressed and the resulting wine finished fermentation in Stainless Steel tanks. The wine then was aged on a combination of new and used French and American oak.
The 2014 offering of Petite Sirah from McManis Family Vineyards is vivid purple in color, with aromas of full toned Blackberry and Boysenberry. Caramel and Toffee are evident in the bouquet, as well as a Chocolate oak profile. The wine is substantial, yet has a rich soft cream texture of mocha. Very elegant and full of ripe black fruit flavors of Blackberry and Blueberry. These fruit flavors are savored in the lingering mouthwatering finish.

I live in Springfiekd Illinois and l enjoy my Friday evening by having a little wine. I usually get a bottle of wine they have on special. I took it home and drank some and I was stunned how wonderful it tasted. The next day I went back and bought a whole case.

I picked up a bottle in Aberdeen, WA at a wine store. It was their last one. We enjoyed the Petit Sirah with grilled salmon. Wonderfully rich and smooth.

I first tasted this wine in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a fine Italian restaurant. On my way back home to Saint John, New Brunswick, I searched high and low but it was no where to be found in my province. Later that year I was happy to find it twice, in St. John's Newfoundland in a tiny liquor store then in New York City in a very high end liquor store. I'm so happy to report it is now available in Saint John, NB and I can buy it whenever I want! Of course, this makes me very happy. It's my favourite red yet!

It was our first American bottle of wine. Simply stunning and needles to add any more words to describe this incredible, deep taste. Thank you for well done product. You have one more follower from Russia. Good luck!

My goal in life is to try as many good wines as I can under 10 bucks. So the 2014 Petite Sirah falls into that very category. (Not sure what anyone else is paying) I love this wine! Goes so well with almost ANY food. I totally believe red wine with fish is great! Every bottle a living entity , every palette unique. Keep it comin'

Petite Sirah was my favorite before. This vineyard has really raised the bar on affordable petite. I cannot find a better petite. Can only ask that they consider a Petite Verdot or blend. This is just the best red for me, deep red, lush, fullest body that lingers in all the right places.

Tried this wine at a local restaurant. We were literally stunned by the bold yet biddable dovetailing this wine had to offer. I will need to try another before I can draw any conclusion....perhaps MANY more.

I tried the 2014 Petite Sirah two weeks ago while it was on sale at our local Krogers, took it home that night and had it with Golden oak Shitake mushrooms. Delicious! went back the next day and bought the other 9 bottles. Tonight I am trying the 2015 vintage and I must say it has a lot of potential, thou youthful it has character of southern Rhone with soft oak in the background I will try it again tomorrow night with different foods, Pretty sure I'm going to empty the shelves and let age a year or two. Love your wines McManis
