24.7 Deg. Brix at Harvest
New and Used French and American Oak
First Bottling - July 2015
Gold Reserve Class Champion 2016 Houston Rodeo International Wine Competition
The grapes for the 2014 Syrah were harvested between August 21st and September 4th and averaged 24.7 degrees brix. All of the must was fermented for 7-9 days on the skin, pressed and the resulting wine finished fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After clarification, the wine was aged on French and American oak for approximately 6 months.
The 2014 McManis Family Vineyards Syrah is medium purple in color, with a luminous youthful hue. Bright ripe Blackberry, Cherries and Currant plays the lead role in the nose, while a subtle bouquet of vanilla oak and Toffee make up the supporting cast. Brimming with dark berry fruit flavors, the lively wine finishes rich and round. Sublime notes of toasty oak and earthiness linger in the finish.
